Masa (Journey) — Generation Goes and Generation Comes

Presented in Mineged, a group sculpture exhibition at the U. Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art, Jerusalem.

Masa (Journey) — Generation Goes and Generation Comes is a circular sculptural work incorporating footprints pressed into clay. The work responds to the biblical image of Moses viewing the Land of Israel from afar, using movement, circularity and the trace of the body to reflect on continuity, passage and belonging. The subtitle refers to Ecclesiastes 1:4, while the exhibition title Mineged (“from afar”) echoes the image of Moses seeing the land from a distance.
